The 2014 vintage was characterized by a mild winter with temperatures above normal seasonal averages and by abundant precipitation as well. Spring and summer rainfall created precious reserves of groundwater in the soil. The important temperature swings between daytime warmth and evening and nighttime coolness created the conditions for a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. Mild September weather assisted in arriving at harvest time with healthy Chardonnay grapes with a bracing acidity.
